Judy Eidge has made her living as an artist her entire life. She graduated from the University of Florida with a Fine Arts/Painting degree in 1975. During college she worked in a silkscreen shop, painted billboards along I-75 and was the illustrator for the state office of the County Extension Service.
After graduation, Judy was the creative department for a huge printing firm in Atlanta. There she illustrated and designed for publications.
Next was the textile design industry, working for Salem Carpet Mills in north Georgia. Here she worked in all phases of product development and marketing. This introduced her to interior design. Responsibility for color selection and the dyeing processes has given her an infallible eye for color.
Sarasota became home in 1987. Since then Judy has specialized in custom work and started Custom Arts Company, inc., which grew to a studio of a dozen employees/artists. The company’s murals, faux finishes and decorative artistry grace hundreds of beautiful homes and businesses throughout Florida.
Judy works well with designers and clients to create exacting visions in custom pieces. Her portfolio includes both these commissioned pieces and her personal paintings.
The desire to paint plein air and the lush colors of Florida generate a body of work which includes her large paintings-”Explorations”, her plein air paintings-”In the Outdoors” and specially prepared paintings -”Paintings for Your Outdoor Spaces”.
